Hail and Storm Damage Roof Inspections

After hail or high wind, Snow Roofing & Exteriors will get on your roof, photograph every damaged area and tell you plainly what we find. If it's worth filing a claim, we document the damage and meet your adjuster. We serve Wise County and the surrounding towns from Bridgeport, Decatur and Rhome. Every shingle roof we install is Class 3 impact-rated or better, with Class 4 available.

Recent storms near our offices

From NOAA's Storm Events Database:

  • April 25, 2026: hail up to 2.75 inches reported near the Bridgeport airport and Runaway Bay, 2-inch hail northeast of Jacksboro, and an EF-2 tornado at Runaway Bay. NOAA also logged an EF-1 tornado near the Springtown airport that day.
  • April 28, 2026: 2.75-inch hail at Millsap, 2-inch hail south of Bryson, and 1.75-inch hail at Paradise.
  • May 17, 2025: 2.75-inch hail at the Bridgeport airport.
  • April 2024: 3-inch hail at Boyd (April 8), plus 2-inch hail at Rhome and Newark and 2.5-inch hail at Springtown (April 1).

NOAA reports depend on spotters being in the right place, so rural areas are under-reported. If you're not sure whether your roof got hit, it's worth an inspection.

How our storm inspection works

  1. On-roof inspection. We check the shingles or panels, flashing, vents, gutters, and soft metals (which show hail hits clearly).
  2. Photo documentation of the damage we find, including the date and location on the roof. [CONFIRM: do you give every inspection customer a written report with labeled photos they keep, hired or not?]
  3. A straight answer. Repair, replace, or leave it alone. If the damage isn't worth a claim, we'll say so.
  4. Adjuster meeting. If you file, we meet your adjuster on the roof and point out what we documented.
  5. The work, scheduled once you've decided how to proceed.
Texas law, plainly: Texas law requires you to pay your insurance deductible, and contractors may not waive, absorb, or rebate it. We never will. We also aren't public adjusters. We document the damage, meet your adjuster on the roof, and build our estimate from what we actually find.

Rebuild it tougher

If you're replacing the roof, ask about Class 4 shingles or metal. Every shingle roof we install is Class 3 impact-rated or better, with Class 4 available. Texas insurers can give a premium credit for roof coverings rated under UL 2218. The Texas Department of Insurance says the amount varies by company, and Class 4 generally earns the largest credit. We can't promise any discount, and we don't promise one for Class 3. Call your insurer before you choose. When we install a qualifying roof, we fill out TDI Form PC068 for you to send them.

Frequently asked questions

Can a roofer pay or waive my insurance deductible in Texas?

No. Texas law requires the policyholder to pay the deductible, and it is illegal for a contractor to waive, absorb, or rebate it. Snow Roofing & Exteriors never waives deductibles.

Will you handle my insurance claim?

We are roofers, not public adjusters, and Texas law does not allow contractors to act as adjusters. We inspect and photograph the damage, meet your adjuster on the roof, and give you a clear estimate. You or your agent handle the claim with your insurance company.

How do I know if hail damaged my roof?

Signs include dented gutters, downspouts, vents, and flashing, plus bruised or cracked shingles and granule loss. Much of it cannot be seen from the ground, so a free on-roof inspection with photos is the reliable way to know.

Is the storm inspection really free?

Yes. A storm inspection is free and there is no obligation to hire us.
