Bridgeport roofs, and the weather they deal with
Bridgeport has grown from 5,927 residents in the 2020 Census base to an estimated 6,915 in 2025. Wise County as a whole grew about 22% over the same period. That growth means lots of new homes on acreage and new shops and barndominiums, plus plenty of older ranch houses and lake places that need a new roof.
Hail is the big reason roofs here get replaced. NOAA's Storm Events Database shows 2.75-inch hail at the Bridgeport airport on May 17, 2025, and hail up to 2.75 inches around the airport and Runaway Bay again on April 25, 2026, the same day an EF-2 tornado hit the Runaway Bay area. Wise County logged 40 reports of golf-ball-size or larger hail between 2016 and mid-2026, and that's only what spotters happened to catch.
What we install most around Bridgeport
- Impact-rated shingles. Class 3 is our minimum, and Class 4 is available. Many homeowners here go with Class 4 and send TDI Form PC068 to their insurer. Credits vary by company, so ask yours.
- Standing seam on homes and lake places west of town toward Lake Bridgeport. See standing seam.
- R-panel and PBR on shops, barns and barndos on the county roads around town. See barndo & shop roofs.
- Re-screws and leak repairs on older exposed-fastener metal roofs. See metal roof repair.
- Gutters, soffit and fascia done with the roof so the roof edge is right.
